Emergency Tree Work

After Storm Eunice hit Seaford, East Sussex, a large macrocarpa tree split and blocked Firle Road, creating a hazardous situation. Macrocarpa trees are medium-sized, fast-growing evergreens with dense foliage.

We were called in to clear the road at night and make the area safe again. The job took three hours to complete with a team of four. We used chainsaws and cutters, as well as tractors, a trailer, and two trucks to quickly reduce the tree into movable sections and dispose of the remains for biomass fuel.

This particular tree had never been pruned or trimmed, which had caused it to become top-heavy, unsafe, and was not robust enough to withstand the weight of its dense coniferous foliage in the storm force winds.

Storm Eunice also brought down another macrocarpa across a road in South Heighton. We went on to remove that the following day.

If you have a macrocarpa in your garden, or on your land, which needs some attention, we can reduce the height and thin out the branches making it safe and healthier. Give us a call or fill in our website form.
